Pixel Watch 2 specifications emerge: Snapdragon W5, Wear OS 4 and 2GB RAM
Specifications of the Google Pixel Watch 2 have surfaced in the Google Play Console. The smart watch would have a Snapdragon W5 SoC, run on Wear OS 4 and have 2GB of RAM. Google would like to introduce the Pixel Watch 2 this fall.
The listing shows that the watch has been given the code name Eos. The device would also be supplied with Android 13, which is used as the basis for Wear OS 4. The screen would have a resolution of 384 by 384 pixels, which means the resolution corresponds to the panel in the Pixel Watch. With 2GB, the new device also has the same amount of RAM as Google’s current smart watch. The Snapdragon W5 SoC is the SW5100. This mobile chipset contains four Arm Cortex A53 cores, each running at 1700MHz, and an Adreno 702 GPU running at 1000MHz.
The specifications from the Google Play Console match previous leaks that stated that the Pixel Watch 2 would no longer use the Samsung Exynos 9110 soc. This currently resides in the Pixel Watch. According to those rumors, the Pixel Watch 2 would also come with a larger battery capacity: 306mAh instead of 294mAh. The screen would be made by Samsung this time, instead of BOE, and the new watch would support ultrawideband.
Google would release the Pixel Watch 2 according to 9to5Google want to introduce this fall, together with the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro smartphones. It is not clear how much the new smart watch should cost. The current Pixel Watch was introduced at the end of 2022 for a suggested retail price of $349.
