Pixel Titans delays release of retro shooter Strafe until May
Pixel Titans, the team behind the shooter Strafe, has announced that the game will be delayed a little longer. The game was originally supposed to be released at the end of March, but the release has been postponed to May 9 this week.
In an update on the game’s Kickstarter page, the team writes that “the game is almost done.” Pixel Titans will not disclose the exact reason for the delay, only saying that the delay means that some optimizations can still take place. When the game comes out in May, it will be available for PC, macOS and PlayStation 4.
Strafe is a retro game that resembles the early versions of Doom, Quake and Unreal. The Kickstarter campaign for the game kicked off in 2015. With this, the team aimed to raise approximately $185,000, which ultimately led to a raised amount of just over $200,000. Pixel Titans previously released a playable demo of the game, which was initially intended for media use only.
The game is published by Devolver Digital. The company has not yet announced a price for the game.
