Pixel 4 XL hands-on videos appear online
Three videos have appeared on YouTube where reviewers get their first look at Google’s Pixel 4 XL. In addition to a discussion of the hardware, the software including ‘Screen Attention’ is also discussed. There is also a photo that is compared to a photo of the Pixel 3 XL.
The videos are from Vietnamese AnhEm TV, Duy Thẩm and Rabbit TV. The images show the white variant with black edges and orange on button, a black 4 XL and an orange variant. The videos confirm earlier rumors that the device will have a Snapdragon 855, 6GB of ram and a 6.23″ screen with resolution of 3040×1440 pixels. There is no notch in the screen. On the back is a square camera island with three cameras and an LED flash.
It is also clear that the screen offers a refresh rate of 90Hz. The Smooth Display setting allows users to switch between 60Hz and 90Hz, with Google warning before the last setting to affect battery life. The Screen Attention feature is likely to cause a sensor to register whether the user is looking at the screen to prevent the screen from going to sleep. There is also the Recorder app for recordings.
Many details of the Pixel 4 devices have already appeared online in recent months, although an announcement is only expected in October. According to Android Central, there are indications in a render that the introduction will take place on October 15.
