Pictures of possible successor Surface Pro 4 appear online
Telecominsider EVLeaks has put renders of the successor to the Surface Pro 4 online. The device looks like two drops of water on its predecessor and Microsoft would simply name the 2-in-1 ‘Surface Pro’.
Microsoft is updating the Surface Pro with Kaby Lake processors and new colors for the stylus and Type Covers along the lines of the palette of the Surface laptop introduced last month. The successor to the Surface Pro 4 will receive a 3.5mm audio jack, mini displayport and USB type A. With this, Microsoft is sticking to its strategy of not using USB-C yet, mainly because of the compatibility with existing accessories. .
The renders Evan Blass publishes on Venture Beat show a 2-in-1 that hardly differs from the Surface Pro 4. Microsoft is expected to announce the update of the hardware on May 23: the company has an event on that day on the schedule. According to rumors, Microsoft is not introducing a new Surface Book. It is not known whether there will be other announcements on May 23.
