Pictures may show unannounced Sony Xperia 3 smartphone
Images have surfaced that may show the Sony Xperia 3. The smartphone in the images has a fingerprint scanner on the side and a curved back that is thinner in the middle than at the top and bottom.
The images from the Chinese CNMO show the phone from the front and side. A screen is visible on the front without a notch. On the side you can see that the phone has a design that is reminiscent of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc from 2011.
Sony would like to present the Xperia 3 as a successor to this year’s Xperia 1 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-soc. The Japanese manufacturer would like to show the device in February next year, according to CNMO. Sony will announce many of its devices at the Mobile World Congress telecom fair, which starts next year on February 24 in Barcelona.
Sony has not commented on the rumor. It happens more often that images of unannounced Sony smartphones appear online months before the planned announcement. The most recent release is the Xperia 5, which came out this fall, as a smaller version of the Xperia 1, which was released this spring.
