Photoshop update enables interface scaling in 25 percent increments

Adobe is updating the Windows version of Photoshop CC to provide better support for high pixel density screens. The interface can now be scaled between 100 and 400 percent, in steps of 25, without restarting the software.

Adobe says it has worked with Microsoft to improve support for high pixel density displays. Users must have Windows 10 Creator’s Update installed to take advantage of the new features.

The Photoshop CC interface is automatically set to a scaling level that matches the setting in Windows after updating to version 19.1. The steps of 25 percent and the scale level from 100 to 400 from Windows 10 are adopted.

In addition, the scale of the monitor is automatically adjusted for each monitor. This is necessary when users combine monitors with different pixel density, or use a laptop next to an external screen, for example.

Previously, in Photoshop, there was only an “experimental” option to scale to 200 percent rendering. That option is useful for small, very high-resolution laptop screens, such as 13.3″ models with a 4k resolution, but in practice less useful on, for example, a 24″ 4k monitor. Also, a reboot was required when rescaling the interface.

In addition, Photoshop CC version 19.1 includes the Select Subject option, which Adobe showed earlier. This is a function that works with machine learning with which a person or object can be selected in one go. In addition, the image editing software has better support for the Microsoft Dial. Now it’s about official support, rather than a technology preview.
