Photos show Samsung’s cheapest Galaxy device with metal edge
Photos have emerged of what would become the Samsung Galaxy A3, the cheapest metal-edged smartphone Samsung is currently planning. The phone with type number SM-A300 has a 4.5″ screen according to a benchmark.
The photos have come out via Tenaa, a Chinese inspection body where manufacturers have their devices inspected for the Chinese market. According to Tenaa, the phone measures 13×6.5cm. The device has a 4.5″ AMOLED screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels.
The suspected Galaxy A3, like the already released Galaxy Alpha, has a metal edge and a thin profile; the phone is not even 7mm thick according to the information from the inspection body. A previous benchmark at GFXBench indicated that the A3 will get a Snapdragon 410-soc from Qualcomm, with four Cortex A53 cores at 1.2GHz and an Adreno 306 GPU. Many new midrange smartphones have that soc.
According to previous information, Samsung’s Galaxy A line, led by the expensive Galaxy Alpha, is a series of thin Android smartphones in various sizes and with a metal edge. Earlier, through the same Tenaa, photos of the suspected Galaxy A5 came out. It is unknown when Samsung will present those devices.
