Photos show Meizu Pro 7 with small electronic ink screen on the back
Photos have surfaced online showing the upcoming Meizu Pro 7 smartphone. At the back of the device is a small screen of electronic ink. Information such as the time and the weather can be displayed on it.
The photos have appeared on Weibo, Techdue reports, among others. The latest photo shows the device in action. Only the back is shown and there you can see that the device has two cameras, with the screen of electronic ink underneath. This screen can probably also be used for notifications.
Earlier, a render appeared online showing the E ink screen. A photo also showed part of the housing with a cutout for the second screen. It’s not the first time a smartphone manufacturer has added an electronic ink screen; the Russian Yota made two devices with an E Ink screen on the back. It was a bigger screen.
According to rumors, the Meizu Pro 7 will be announced in a few weeks and the smartphone will receive a Helio X30 soc from MediaTek. There may also be a larger Plus variant with a Samsung Exynos 8890, the soc from the Samsung Galaxy S7. Predecessor Meizu Pro 6 had a pressure-sensitive OLED screen and a Helio X25 soc. The later Plus variant had the Exynos 8890-soc on board.
