Photos show AMD Wraith Prism cooler with six instead of four heatpipes
Photos have appeared on the internet of a Wraith Prism CPU cooler from AMD that does not have four heatpipes, like the current model, but six heatpipes. The design of the cooler is otherwise almost identical.
Hong Kong-based site XFastest showcases the new AMD Wraith Prism CPU cooler alongside the old one. Apart from the two extra heatpipes, the dimensions, the way of mounting, the supported sockets and the RGB lighting are identical, Tom’s Hardware writes based on the findings.
Remarkably enough, the packaging of the new model shows the same part number as the original: 712-000075 Rev: C. It is not known whether, when and with which CPUs AMD will supply the CPU cooler. The company currently ships its Wraith Prism CPU cooler with the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 7 3800X, 7 3700X, and 7 2700X. The Ryzen 7 7 3800X and 9 3900X have a TDP of 105W, so the new cooler supports at least processors up to 105W.
