Photos show allegedly canceled Microsoft Band 3
Photos of what may have been the Microsoft Band 3 have surfaced. The images show a fitness tracker that is, among other things, waterproof and could measure blood pressure. Microsoft has announced that it has no plans to release a new Band for the time being.
In addition to a waterproof housing and blood pressure measurement via an electrocardiogram, there would also be rfid in the Band 3. The user who posts the photos says that it is a prototype. The design is also similar to that of last year’s Band 2. The photos appeared on the Windows Central forum.
Microsoft recently confirmed that it has stopped offering the Band 2 and the SDK for its wearables. It therefore seems to have completely stopped with wearables and also confirmed that the Band will not get a successor for the time being. This makes the chance that the fitness tracker in the photos will really come out is small.
Microsoft took its first step into the world of fitness trackers in 2014 with the first Band and released the Band 2 last year. Microsoft promises to continue to support the Band and Band 2.
