Photos presumably show HTC’s round smartwatch
Photos have appeared on a Chinese site that show a smartwatch with the HTC logo on it. The smartwatch shown has a thick screen bezel and a heart rate sensor is located on the back. The wearable runs Android Wear.
The images released on the Chinese site Weibo and spotted by TechTastic show a smartwatch that HTC is said to be working on under the name Halfbeak and bearing the Under Armor branding. The latter indicates that the smartwatch is mainly aimed at fitness applications. HTC previously worked with Under Armor on the UA HealthBox, which includes a fitness tracker.
The Halfbeak features chunky bezels and two side buttons, one of which could be a home button. There is a heart rate sensor on the back. The wristband is made of rubber and the smartwatch runs Android Wear.
There have been more rumors in recent years about the arrival of smartwatches from HTC. A year ago there was already a report about a ‘Halfbeak’ from the company, then with the specification that the screen would have a resolution of 360×360 pixels.
