Photos may show Xiaomi foldable phone
Photos have emerged that supposedly show a prototype of a foldable smartphone from Xiaomi. The model is most reminiscent of the Galaxy Z Fold devices from Samsung. There is a solid fold in the middle visible.
The photos came from Weibo, but that post has since disappeared. The photos are still on MyFixGuide and the account of the watermark that Weibo added points to an account that posts a lot about phones, including from Xiaomi. The photos appear to have been taken in public, for example in public transport. It doesn’t seem to be about photos at an event.
The phone has thick bezels; that may be a case that manufacturers use to not give away a phone’s design when photos leak out. In the middle of the screen, the fold is clearly visible, something that also happens with the similar Galaxy Z Fold devices from Samsung. The phone runs on Miui 12, the latest version of Xiaomi’s software for Android.
The photos are an indication that previous information about Xiaomi’s plans for foldable smartphones is correct. That info said the Chinese manufacturer is working on three different models. Specs and details of the smartphone are unknown. Xiaomi has not responded.
