Photos may show unannounced Google Pixel 4a smartphone
Photos have surfaced that may show the Pixel 4a. The photos match the design seen in the renders of the smartphone. Google will likely announce the phone around the time its canceled I/O conference was due.
The photos that a user posted on Weibo show a smartphone with a hole in the screen for the front camera and it would be the first time that Google would use that technique. Until now, Google has always put a solid screen in its smartphones, except for the Pixel 3XL; it has a notch in the display. The photos also show a 3.5mm jack and a camera island with a single camera.
Google announced its Pixel 3a models at its developer conference I/O last year. That will not work this year, because I/O is canceled due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus. The search giant will probably hold a presentation with planned announcements around that time, although that is not known.
Renders of the Pixel 4a already appeared at the end of last year and they correspond to the photos that have now appeared. The Pixel 3a appeared last spring in two versions, but reportedly only a smaller variant will appear this year.
