Photos and specs of Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus appear online
Images and specs have surfaced online of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus, two new smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer. Xiaomi will present the phones next week, according to an invitation that also appeared online.
The presentation of the Redmi 5 and 5 Plus will take place on Thursday, December 7, according to the invitation that Xiaomi put on Weibo. The invitation explicitly mentions the phone’s names and also shows small thumbnails. Xiaomi then confirms that the models will have an 18:9 screen. Many phones this fall have such a 2:1 display.
MyDrivers found photos and specs of both devices at the Tenaa testing agency. The smaller Redmi 5 will have a 5.7″ screen with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, while the 5 Plus will have a 5.99″ screen with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The Redmi 5 phones are the successors of the Redmi 4 series. The Redmi Note 4/4X has been one of the best-selling phones in the world according to various analysts.
