Photo shows unannounced Sony Xperia X Compact smartphone
A photo of what should become the Sony Xperia X Compact smartphone has emerged. It is presumably the successor to the Xperia Z5 Compact that appeared last year. The Xperia X series itself has 5 “screens, the Compact would get a smaller screen.
If the logo of the by @evleaks revealed Xperia X Compact is the same size as the Xperia X and Xperia Z5 Compact, it is a phone with dimensions of 13×6.5cm with a screen that has a diagonal of 4.6″. This corresponds to the characteristics of the Z5 Compact from last year and the Z3 Compact from two years ago.
Where @evleaks usually puts renders online, this device is a real photo. This can be seen from what the software displays. Where on renders the range is always optimal and the battery is always full, in this photo it is clear that the SIM card is missing in the phone and the battery has sixty percent left.
Earlier this summer, Sony released the Xperia X, X Performance and XA, a trio of smartphones with a 5 “LCD. In previous years, the Compact version proved popular, because of the compact housing for a high-end Android phone.
No details are known about the device yet. The next opportunity for Sony to announce devices on a big stage is next week. The company gives a presentation on the occasion of the electronics fair IFA in Berlin, but whether Sony will also show new smartphones there is unknown.
