Photo shows Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite motherboard
A photo has surfaced online of Gigabytes Z390 Aorus Elite motherboard. A lot of information about the Intel Z390 chipset has already been leaked in recent months, but now there is actually a motherboard on display.
The photo of the Gigabyte motherboard was put online by VideoCardz. According to the site, manufacturers are currently finalizing the Z390 motherboards. An official release would follow soon. The Aorus Elite board in question in the photo would be Gigabyte’s cheapest motherboard with the Z390 chipset. More expensive boards with more functionality come in the new Pro, Master and Xtreme series.
Intel previously posted details about the Z390 chipset online. The new chipset is largely the same as the existing Z370 variant, but with an integrated USB 3.1 controller and a Wireless-AC 9560 adapter for 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
VideoCardz notes that many manufacturers are changing the names of their motherboards with the arrival of the Coffee Lake Refresh processors. For example, ASRock is replacing its Fatal1ty naming with Phantom Gaming and MSI is working on MAG and MEG series. It is likely that the Z390 motherboards will be officially announced when Intel presents its ninth generation Core processors. Initially, there are three models: the Core i9-9900K, the i7-9700K and the i5-9600K.
