Photo shows Android Wear watch ZTE Quartz
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE is coming with an Android Wear watch, according to VentureBeat. This is evident from marketing material and a photo that has been published. It’s a round watch that probably has 3G and WiFi.
The marketing materials were reviewed by Evan Blass, who is known for releasing information about undisclosed telecom industry products. In his article on VentureBeat, he also shows a photo of the watch, which he says will be called ZTE Quartz.
ZTE already received a bluetooth certificate in January for a smartwatch with model number ZW10. That model has WiFi and 3G support. It is probably the watch that will be marketed as ZTE Quartz. The image shows that it is a round smartwatch and the marketing material would state that the watch runs on Android Wear, but no further specifications are known.
The ZTE watch probably runs on Android Wear 2.0. Test versions of that software have been available for months and Google will probably announce the final version on Wednesday. New Android Wear watches are also expected from other manufacturers. Last month, VentureBeat announced that LG will announce the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style on February 9, together with Google. Huawei will probably come with the Watch 2.
