A possible photo of a refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in Vietnam shows, among other things, that the device has a smaller battery capacity this time than the first time the device appeared on the market. Where the original had 3500mAh of capacity, this one has 3200mAh.

The photos of Samsung VN show that the device has model number SM-N935. The original aircraft was an SM-N930. In addition to the lower battery capacity, we see that the device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with a build date of February 2017. Android Authority speculates that the photo of the lockscreen shows the date “Friday 7 April” in Vietnamese. Further details cannot be concluded from the photos.

Samsung announced last week that the company would re-release the Galaxy Note 7 as refurbished models, possibly with a different name. Samsung disassembles devices that are no longer suitable for reuse in order to reuse usable parts and metals. In this way, the company would reduce the burden on the environment as much as possible. It is not yet clear where the devices will be released. According to Samsung, this depends on the demand for the device and how telecom watchdogs and providers feel about it. In any case, the device will not be released again in the US.

The Galaxy Note 7 from Samsung turned out to have an above-average chance of catching fire after its release, which also made the news a lot. Some time after the initial release, Samsung decided to recall all Note 7s, which cost the company a lot of money. An extensive analysis of the problems showed that the fires were caused by two different design errors in the battery, Samsung announced in January.
