Photo may show Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S with fingerprint scanner behind screenscanner
A photo has appeared online that may show the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s. The device seems to have a fingerprint scanner behind the screen. Xiaomi recently announced that the device will be announced on March 27 and will receive a Snapdragon 845 soc.
The photo that was put online by the Chinese Mydrivers shows a device with a screen that runs almost completely through both the top and bottom. An icon of a fingerprint can be seen on the screen, which may indicate that the device has a fingerprint scanner behind the screen. The front camera would be in the top right corner.
If Xiaomi wants to give the Mi Mix 2s a fingerprint scanner behind the screen, the manufacturer should probably use an OLED panel. At the end of January, Vivo released the first phone with a fingerprint scanner behind the screen in China. That device, the X20 Plus UD, uses Synaptics’ Clear ID FS9500 fingerprint scanner. It works with optical recognition and that is only possible in combination with an OLED panel. LCDs have too many layers and electronics between the pixels to allow enough light to pass through to the sensor.
According to rumors, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will have a 6″ screen with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels, 8GB of ram and 256GB of storage. At the back, there would be two cameras with a Sony IMX363 sensor. The Chinese manufacturer has recently announced through an invitation that the The device will be announced on March 27 and will be equipped with the Snapdragon 845-soc.
