Phone accessory manufacturer Incipio acquires competitor Griffin Technology
Incipio, maker of, among other things, covers for iPads and iPhones, is taking over competitor Griffin Technology. The companies do not disclose the amount involved. It is certainly the fourth acquisition the company has made since 2015.
Incipio does not disclose much in the publication of the deal. Like Skullcandy, Griffin is allowed to continue to operate as a more or less autonomous trademark. The company is allowed to keep its headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, including staff.
The 25-year-old telephone accessory maker has been on the takeover path for some time. In the past week it was also announced that the terms of the acquisition of Skullcandy have also been adjusted. Instead of $5.75 per share, Incipio pays $6.10. This increases the acquisition amount from 177 million dollars to 188 million dollars. In addition to Skullcandy and Griffin, Incipio has also acquired Braven, Clamcase, Tavik and Incase.
