Philips Lighting releases Hue Candle with E14 fitting

Philips Lighting has announced the Hue Candle. This candle lamp with a small socket should allow Hue users to use the adjustable LED lighting in chandeliers or other decorative fixtures.

The color temperature of the Hue Candle has a range of 2200 to 6500 Kelvin and the light output is 470 lumen. With the latter value, the yield can be compared with a 40W incandescent lamp, according to Philips Lighting.

The manufacturer makes the lamp with an E14 fitting available in a White Ambiance variant with white tones and a White&Color Ambiance version for white and colored light. The models will be available in the shops at the end of April and will have a suggested retail price of 60 euros.

Update: The Hue White Ambiance variant is available for 34.95 euros. The colored version: Hue Color Ambiance costs 59.95 euros.
