Pebble has released a software update for the Pebble Time that, among other things, ensures that users can set how long the backlight stays on. The brightness of the screen can also be adjusted, as well as a number of other things.

Until now, users were not able to set how long the backlight stayed on, but with the software update this is possible, reports Pebble. Users can choose a timeout of 3, 5 or 8 seconds. The brightness of the backlight can now also be set, whereby it can also be a bit brighter than the standard brightness.

In addition, users installing the software update can now set the intensity of the vibration motor. It vibrates when a user receives a message. The intensity is set to ‘high’ by default, but users can also choose ‘low’ or ‘medium’. The font size of notifications can now also be adjusted.

The software update is available for both the Pebble Time and the Time Steel, which is coming soon. Users can install the update from the support page in the Pebble Time app. The Pebble Time’s operating system is also coming to the original Pebble and the Pebble Steel. The watchmaker now says it plans to roll out the update to those devices by the end of this year.
