Pebble Time costs 249 euros in presale

The Pebble Time smartwatch has gone on sale. The smart watch has a suggested retail price of 249 euros. That is considerably more than the American suggested retail price of 199 dollars, converted 175 euros, with VAT that is 211 euros.

The smartwatch can already be ordered via the official Pebble website and a number of web stores. It is unclear when the Pebble Time will be delivered exactly, although smartwatches have already been sent to backers of the Kickstarter fundraiser. In addition, the euro price is significantly higher than the American price.

The Pebble Time has a color screen that can display 64 colors. Thanks to e-paper technology, the power consumption of the display is significantly lower than that of LED and OLED screens. Pebble claims a battery life of approximately seven days. The smartwatch is waterproof and 20 percent thinner than the first Pebble. The watch also has a microphone.

During the fundraiser on crowdfunding site Kickstarter, Pebble managed to raise $ 20,338,986, converted 18.7 million euros, for the Time smartwatch. This gave Pebble a new Kickstarter record.
