Pebble starts supporting Android Wear notifications

Smartwatch manufacturer Pebble has added support for Android Wear notifications to its platform. Pebble Watch or Pebble Steel owners will need to upgrade the firmware and install the latest Android app.

Pebble started a beta test in December that made it possible to show Android Wear notifications on the company’s smartwatches. According to Pebble, the software is now mature enough for an official release. Pebble smartwatch owners can make Wear notifications visible by installing the latest firmware version, version 2.9, and the latest Pebble Android app.

According to Pebble, the released version 2.3 of its Android app makes it possible, among other things, to quickly respond to incoming messaging messages using predefined replies. Five presets are available.

The new software requires a phone with Android 4.0 or higher. Pebble also reports that the problems with displaying notifications from WhatsApp have also been resolved. The iOS update mainly contains bug fixes.
