Pebble has raised 12.8 million dollars, converted about 11.5 million euros, with its third crowdfunding campaign. The company raised money to create the Pebble 2, Time 2 and the Core, a display-less wearable.

While the amount raised has well surpassed the $1 million target, Pebble’s third campaign has been less successful than the previous Kickstarter. In March 2015, the crowdfunding campaign for the first edition of Pebble Time was closed with an amount of more than 20 million dollars. In total, 66,672 participants pledged money to Pebble in the third campaign. 78,471 people participated in the previous campaign.

The campaign started at the end of May with the introduction of the Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2 and the Pebble Core at the same time. The Pebble 2 is the successor to the first plastic Pebble from three years ago. The wearable has a black and white screen with a resolution of 168×144 pixels. The Time 2 has a larger screen and faster SOC than the first model. The diagonal of the LCD with 200×228 pixels is about 1.5 “and the soc is an ARM Cortex-M7 at 144MHz.

With the Core, Pebble introduced its first non-smartwatch; it is a music player with its own mobile internet connection and GPS for tracking sports activities. The Core also gets a microphone for voice memos.

The Pebble 2 will be sent to backers from September. The Time 2 should reach participants in November and the Core is expected in January 2017.
