Nvidia and Rockstar Games are releasing an update for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 that now enables DLSS. According to Nvidia, DLSS provides up to 45 percent higher frame rate. The update is available immediately.

With DLSS enabled for Red Dead Redemption 2, PC gamers with an RTX video card should be able to play at the highest possible graphics settings at 1080p resolution. Nvidia promises in that case at least 60fps. PCs with a GeForce RTX 3070 or better should be able to handle at least 60fps in 4k resolution with the graphics settings set to maximum.

DLSS stands for deep learning super sampling and is a technology that uses artificial intelligence to improve the performance of a game. Dedicated Tensor cores in RTX video cards render textures from DLSS-enabled games at a lower resolution, then scale them up and add detail. As a result, a game remains visually the same, while less computing power is needed to achieve the same graphic quality, that is the idea. Meanwhile, Nvidia provides DLSS support for more than sixty games, including Call of Duty: Warzone, Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man’s Sky.
