Ubisoft has released an update for the PC version of Far Cry 5 with high-resolution textures. This concerns a total of 29GB of extra material. The versions for consoles will get the update, but without the high-res textures.

The new textures should provide better image quality, but require more from the video card. It is recommended to use a gpu with 4GB vram or more. The HD Textures Pack is part of Far Cry 5 version 1.11, which also fixes bugs and adds numerous masks with themes from other Ubisoft games.

TechPowerUp notes that gamers who purchased Far Cry 5 on Steam may not get the new textures yet. Although the HD Textures Pack is mentioned in the release notes on Steam, the download is not said to be as large as with UPlay. Players who purchased Far Cry 5 directly through UPlay can download the texture pack as a DLC.
