PC handheld Ayaneo NEXT LITE will cost $299, but does not contain SteamOS
More details have been revealed about NEXT LITE, Ayaneo’s PC gaming handheld. It comes equipped with HoloISO, an unofficial version of SteamOS that can be used on PC gaming handhelds that are not Steam Decks.
This was previously announced the NEXT LITE contains a 7″ screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and a 47Wh battery. More is now known about the inside of the device. Users can choose between two different processors: an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U or an AMD Ryzen 7 4800U The device has 16GB of RAM and three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports.
Initially, Ayaneo reported that the NEXT LITE would use Valves operating system, but that information can no longer be found on the site, notes among others GamingOnLinux on. Instead, HoloISO is pre-installed on the device. HoloISO is based on the latest version of SteamOS, but can be used for third-party PC handhelds such as the NEXT LITE. However, it is not officially supported by Valve.
