PC gamers can still import Hitman 2 levels to Hitman 3 on Epic Store
Hitman 3 owners will still be able to import their levels from Hitman 2 from Steam to the PC version of the game, which will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year. Last week developer IO Interactive stated that this would not be possible.
IO Interactive announces the new decision on Twitter. The studio indicates that all PC gamers who have Hitman 1 or 2 can import the levels from those games to Hitman 3 free of charge. The developer guarantees that players will not have to purchase these games again. This brings the company back to an earlier decision, which the developer announced last weekend. The ability to import Hitman 2 levels to the Epic Games Store version of Hitman 3 is said to be rolled out “in the coming weeks.”
Hitman 3 will be released on January 20 and the PC version of this game will be available exclusively through the Epic Games Store for a year. Developer IO Interactive decided to provide Hitman 3 with old levels from the previous titles in the new Hitman trilogy. Owners of the previous two titles in this series would get free access to those levels, which will also receive a graphical upgrade.
In August last year, IO Interactive stated that owners of the PC version of Hitman 2, which is just available exclusively on Steam, would also be able to access levels from that game in Hitman 3 when the upcoming game hits the Epic Games Store. Last weekend, however, the developer came back to this. The studio then stated that this would not be possible after all, but reversed this decision a few days later.
