PayPal will stop refunding return costs from the end of November
Payment service PayPal will stop refunding return costs from November 27, due to ‘work on existing and new functions’. It is also no longer possible to submit a request for a return cost reimbursement after that date.
Through the scheme, PayPal offers free shipping labels or refunds the costs so that items can be returned to the seller. Return costs will only be reimbursed by PayPal for physical products purchased with the platform.
On the faq page Regarding return costs, PayPal explains that the discontinuation of the service is necessary to “enable work on existing and new features.” “Sometimes certain services have to be phased out as part of larger changes,” the payment service said. However, PayPal doesn’t mention what these “major changes” are.
The service advises users who still want to make use of the return reimbursement to do so before the end date. This is possible until November 26 at 11:59 PM.
