Parent company Dixons, iCentre and Mycom is in financial trouble
The BAS Group has indicated that it is no longer able to pay its bills and has requested a postponement of payment. It is checked whether a restart is possible. BAS Group is the parent company of electronics stores such as Dixons, iCentre and Mycom.
The company made the financial problems public on Saturday and said in a statement that the stores it owns will remain open for the time being. Due to the financial problems, a number of companies owned by BAS Group, including Dixons, iCentre and Mycom, were no longer able to pay the bills.
It is not yet clear what the future will be for the jobs of the 1200 employees who work at BAS Group; Work is underway on a restart, but details are not yet available. It is therefore possible that people will be fired in the long run.
It is not the first time that a possible bankruptcy threatens for subsidiary iCentre. The Apple reseller already went bankrupt, after which a large part of the stores were taken over by BAS Group.
