Paradigit closes remaining physical stores

Electronics store Paradigit closes all its remaining branches. The store will only continue digitally from next month. It concerns only four physical stores that had remained open.

Paradigit will close the stores as of March 1 of this year, the company writes. These are branches in Eindhoven, Utrecht, Maastricht and Groningen. The reason for the closure is on the one hand increasing online sales, but the store closure during the lockdown seems to have definitely pushed the store over the edge. “The ongoing shift from offline store purchases to online purchases, combined with the potentially slow recovery after the lifting of the current corona measures, has prompted management to fully focus on its online activities,” the chain writes.

The store will still continue online. Customers can still contact the website for warranties and ongoing repairs after March 1. The current store closure will not result in layoffs; Paradigit says the employees will be given a new position within the company.

Paradigit also decided to close all physical stores in 2016. That happened after the Paradigit Group went bankrupt. The store later said it would restart with three physical stores. The extra branch in Groningen was added later. Part of that relaunch was a shift to online sales.
