Pangu puts jailbreak for iOS 9 online
The Chinese developers of Pangu have put the first jailbreak for iOS 9 online. The jailbreak program only works under Windows for the time being. All iPhones and iPads are compatible with the jailbreak.
The jailbreak is online on the site of Pangu. The tool is 73MB in size and will jailbreak any recent iPhone or iPad. For now, the tool only works on Windows, but Pangu usually later releases a Mac version of its jailbreak programs.
It is unknown which vulnerabilities in iOS have been exploited by the Chinese developers. Typically, a jailbreak relies on a series of vulnerabilities in the operating system to enable the jailbreak. Apple always patches those vulnerabilities in updates. It is unknown whether the jailbreak also works on iOS 9.1, of which Apple has already distributed test versions, but since Pangu does not explicitly report this, it is obvious that Apple has closed the leaks.
Jailbreak allows users to install apps and tweaks that are not possible without jailbreak. In a Google Doc, users keep track of which tweaks are compatible with iOS 9. Pangu is the team of developers that previously released jailbreaks for iOS 7.1 and iOS 8 first.
