Panasonic has unveiled a new OLED television. The EZW1004 has support for HDR and should provide accurate color reproduction. Furthermore, Panasonic has unveiled the DMP-UB404 Blu-ray player.

Panasonic claims that the company has approximately doubled the maximum brightness of the television compared to its predecessor, the CZ950. This should improve the quality of HDR images. Furthermore, the company has been working to calibrate the screen using 3d lookup tables, which improves color reproduction. The EZW1004 features a Studio Color HCX2 processor.

The new model has improved speakers. The standard incorporates a soundbar that has a maximum power of eighty watts with eight woofers, four midrange speakers and two tweeters. Furthermore, Panasonic has decided to make the device flat, in contrast to the curvature that previous models had.

It is not known how much the television will cost and in which screen sizes it will be available. Panasonic announces that a 65″ variant will be available in Europe from June 2017.

In addition to the television, Panasonic has also unveiled a new Blu-ray player. The DMP-UB404 supports Ultra HD Blu-rays and can transmit 4K images at 60fps to a TV. The player is equipped with two HDMI outputs, so that audio and video can be sent separately. According to Panasonic, this makes a higher quality sound possible.
