Panasonic Japan announces that the 100-400 mm f/4-6.3 lens developed in collaboration with Leica will be available from March. The manufacturer will produce two hundred copies per month. The zoom lens is suitable for micro-four-thirds cameras.

The optical design of the 100-400mm zoom consists of twenty lens elements in thirteen groups. The dimensions are 83×171.1mm and the weight is 985 grams. Filters with a diameter of 72mm can be mounted on the front. Panasonic provides the lens with its Power OIS image stabilization technology and the minimum focus distance is 1.3 meters.

Panasonic announced development of the lens in July 2015. Now the Japanese company has announced that the telephoto zoom will be available in Japan from March 10. A European release will probably follow soon after; a number of online stores have already included the lens in their range. The suggested retail price is 1699 euros.
