Panasonic introduces wireless Bluetooth earphones with noise cancellation
Panasonic has presented several models of wireless bluetooth earphones at CES. The models all have noise canceling that can be adjusted via the accompanying Panasonic Audio Connect app.
Panasonic comes with the RZ-S500W and the RZ-S300W, with the former being the more advanced of the two. Both models have mems microphones for noise canceling, but the RZ-S500W goes even further with what Panasonic calls ‘Dual Hybrid noise canceling technology’. This uses both an external microphone to pick up ambient sound and an internal microphone that listens to the sound the listener hears. This is combined with an audio processing unit, so that the attenuation of unwanted sound should be suitable for every situation.

Both models are equipped with a touch sensor to activate a mode in which both Bluetooth earphones amplify the ambient sound. With a single touch, the noise canceling can also be turned on or off. The RZ-S500W and RZ-300W are ipx4 certified and therefore resistant to splashing water.
Through the app, users can not only adjust the noise cancellation, but also see the location of their earphones and view the battery level. Panasonic does not report how long both models last and whether the storage box shown also charges the earphones. The latter is the case with the EAH-AZ70W from Technics, a brand of Panasonic, also presented. It is not clear whether this model from Technics will also be released in Europe, but they seem closely related to the RZ-S500W and, according to the manufacturer, have a battery life of 6 hours with noise cancellation on, which increases to 18 hours with the storage box. Presumably, those values will also apply to the RZ-S500W in any case. The two RZ models will be on sale from June for unknown prices.
