Panasonic Introduces Lumix G80 System Camera

Panasonic has announced the Lumix G80 system camera, the successor to the G7. The camera has five-axis image stabilization and a magnesium alloy housing. In addition, Panasonic comes with two new Lumix devices.

The Lumix G80 has a 16-megapixel sensor without a low pass filter, just like the GX80. Panasonic has updated its Dual Image Stabilizer for the G80, and the gyroscope combines five-axis stabilization for the body and two-axis stabilization for the lens. The G80 also includes an electromagnetically driven shutter.

The mirrorless camera is housed in a dust- and splash-resistant magnesium alloy housing, where the G7 still had a plastic body. There is also an OLED viewfinder with 2,360,000 pixels. The camera can shoot 4k video at up to 30fps. For now, Panasonic has only indicated a dollar price for the G80, which will also be offered as a G85: $ 899.

Panasonic also comes with the Lumix FZ2000 and the LX15. The Lumix FZ2000 is a bridge camera with 1.0″-20 megapixel sensor and F/2.8-4.5 lens. The Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens system with 20x optical zoom consists of sixteen lens elements in eleven groups. The FZ2000 can capture 4k video with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30fps, as well as shoot images at 4096 x 2060 pixels, but at a maximum of 24fps.

Finally, the Lumix LX 15 compact camera has a 1″-20-megapixel sensor and 24-72mm F1.4-2.8 lens. This camera does not have a viewfinder but does have a tilting touchscreen. The FZ2000 and LX15 have a suggested retail price of $1199 respectively. and $699.
