Panasonic announces new UHD TVs
Panasonic has announced new UHD TV series at the IFA trade show. The X940 offers the largest screen with an 85″ panel. The television is also equipped with a quad-core processor and HEVC codec support.
According to Panasonic, the X940 has a 2000Hz back light scanning panel. Local dimming is also used. A quad-core Pro 5 processor is responsible for image processing and upscaling HD and SD images to UHD resolution. The device has 4k60p HDMI connections and there is also a display port 1.2a connection. It is not yet known how much the X940 will cost.
Panasonic has also announced the AX900 series. This UHD TV uses LCDs. The image quality must be improved with the help of local dimming. Panasonic’s new UHD TV will be available with 55″ and 65″ screen diagonals. The electronics manufacturer has built a sensor into the television that measures the amount of light in the room. Then the picture settings can be adjusted dynamically. Panasonic has also equipped the AX902 uhd television with a quad-core Pro5 processor for image processing.
The third uhd series is the AX630. These UHD TVs have a narrow bezel and are equipped with dual-core image processors. The AX630 models will be available this month in 55″, 48″ and 40″ screen sizes.
