Panasonic has announced its own smart speaker at IFA that uses Google Assistant. Panasonic claims that the sound quality is much better than with other smart home speakers. The SC-GA10 will be launched in the winter.

The Panasonic SC-GA10 supports multi-room audio and can be used to listen to music from various streaming services. There are variants in black and white. The speaker is a lot bigger than, for example, the Google Home. Two 20mm tweeters are present and an 8cm woofer is incorporated into the design.

In addition to the speaker, Panasonic will release a Music Control app. This makes it possible to stream music from a computer, tablet, smartphone or NAS to the speaker. The app also allows users to combine two or more SC-GA10 speakers for stereo playback.

Panasonic says the speaker will be released in the winter and that probably means a release sometime early next year. A suggested retail price has not yet been announced. At the end of April, Google announced the arrival of an Assistant SDK. Companies can use these to come up with their own hardware. The speaker from Panasonic is now the first example of this.

According to The Verge, Anker has also announced its own speaker with Google Assistant: the Zolo Mojo, an entry-level model that costs $ 70. Converted with VAT, that is about 71 euros. That is cheaper than the Google Home, which costs 129 euros.
