Panasonic has provided new firmware for its European 4K TVs this year in the past week. The update brings support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa to the TVs, which can be controlled with voice.

Panasonic has released firmware version 3.074 for LCD TVs in the FX line, with screen diagonals from 40 to 75 inches, and for OLED models in the FZ line, with screen diagonals of 55 and 65 inches. In all cases, these are European UHD models.

Users can use the voice assistants to turn the TV on and off with voice control, change channels and adjust the volume. Users who want to update their firmware to the latest version must have their TV connected to the Internet and open any app. They are then asked whether the update should be performed.

Thanks to support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, users can also pair the TV with smart speakers. Panasonic TVs run the ‘my Home Screen’ operating system, which is based on Mozilla’s former open source Firefox OS.
