Packard Bell introduces Studio ST media player
Hardware manufacturer Packard Bell has announced a media player for the European market that can accommodate 3.5″ hard disks up to 2TB. The black box could handle all common HD formats.
The hard disk in the Studio ST is supplied with media files via the USB 2.0 connection. Whether the player has a 100Mbps or gigabit Ethernet connection is still unknown. However, Engadget knows too report that the device is equipped with HDMI, component and composite connections.
The Studio ST could handle all common media formats and could display video files up to 1080p on the television. Furthermore, the media player would be equipped with power-saving functions, such as automatically turning off the hard disk when it is not used or when the PC goes into standby. The chipset is unknown. Nor is it known exactly when the Studio ST will be launched on the market and what suggested retail price Packard Bell has in mind.
