Overclocker Toppc has managed to run DDR4 memory at 3008.4MHz, breaking the DDR4-6000 barrier for the first time. The speed record was set with G.Skill Trident Z Royal Memory on an Intel system.

The system with which the Taiwanese overclocker set the record speed consists of an MSI MPG Z390I Gaming Edge AC motherboard, Intel Core i9-9900K processor and G.Skill memory stick of 8GB. The speed of 3008.4MHz, resulting in 6016.8MT/s, was achieved with timings of 31-63-63-63-2.

Toppc reports its speed record on Facebook and the validation can be seen on the HWBot website. G.Skill issued a press release saying it has partnered with MSI to make the high memory speed possible.

The new record was achieved using LN2 cooling and Toppc improved itself. He already had the fastest ddr4 speed to his name; in June, it hit ddr4-5886 on the Computex exchange in Taiwan.

G.Skill sells slats in its series of Trident Z Royal memory sticks that officially support speeds up to DDR4-4800. Higher speeds may be possible, but depending on the quality of the chip.
