Outage affects Apple iCloud services – update
Apple has to deal with an outage at iCloud and related services on Thursday evening. As a result, users may not be able to access documents and files, and features such as Find my iPhone and Find my Friends may not work for everyone.
Apple’s status page shows that the outage started just before 6 p.m. In many systems, the malfunction is still ongoing at the time of writing. Apple reports that “some users” are affected by it.
It is not known what caused the malfunctions. Last month there was also an outage with iCloud services, when Apple said it was due to a malfunction at Google. Apple uses Google and Amazon servers for some of its iCloud services.
Update, 21:05: According to the status page, many of the issues have been resolved. Only problems with iCloud Calendar, Contacts and Reminder.
