OtherSide Entertainment comes with System Shock 3
Game studio OtherSide Entertainment has launched a website with a teaser for System Shock 3. The studio is doing this more than sixteen years after the release of the classic System Shock 2 for PC.
OtherSide Entertainment announced the game’s arrival with a teaser. The site currently consists of a mostly black page with a timer that will expire Sunday night into Monday, and a slow-appearing title as the timer expires. On another page, the full title is already visible with options to stay up to date.
The original System Shock and System Shock 2 are classics from the 1990s. The series stopped due to disappointing sales figures. System Shock 2 was developed by the now defunct Looking Glass Studios, but several of its ex-employees now work at OtherSide Entertainment. The game was a combination of action-RPG with survival horror and was well received by the critics. The only official follow up to the series was the release of an enhanced edition of the original System Shock earlier this year. The series already had a spiritual successor in the BioShock series, but is now really being continued by OtherSide Entertainment.
OtherSide Entertainment describes itself as a ‘brand new game studio with a focus on rebooting classic game series’. Currently, the studio is already working on bringing back the Underworld series, but System Shock seems to be joining that now.
