Original developers propose ‘successor’ Banjo-Kazooie

Several developers behind the Banjo-Kazooie platformer for Nintendo 64 are looking to start a Kickstarter fundraiser. The developers of the new Playtonic studio want to get financing for a new platform game.

The developer team consists of a number of former Rare employees who worked on Banjo-Kazooie in the 1990s. They have announced a new platform title under the working title Project Ukulele. The developers hope to raise some of the needed funding through a Kickstarter fundraiser. This will probably be available on the crowdfunding platform in May.

Playtonic has also shown some screenshots of the platformer. Project Ukelele should in a sense follow Banjo-Kazooie, a platform game that caused a furore on the Nintendo 64. However, the game should have a less linear character.

It is not yet clear when the game should be ready. Also, nothing has yet been announced about the platforms Project Ukelele will run on, but a release for Nintendo’s Wii U console is almost certain.
