Organization still postpones Game Developer Conference after cancellations
The Game Developer Conference that was to be held next month is cancelled. The organization initially wanted to continue the game fair, but decided to cancel it because of the corona virus. Another attempt will be made later this year.
The organization of the Game Developer Conference announced in a statement on their website that the fair, which was to be held from March 12 to 16 in San Francisco, will not take place. The decision was made following discussions with participants, many of whom have canceled in recent times. Amazon recently announced that it would not appear at the GDC either.
Earlier this week, the organization announced that the fair will continue, despite the cancellation of big names such as Microsoft, Unity and Epic. Now the organization says it wants to postpone the GDC until “later in the summer”. An exact date is not yet available.
The GDC is not the first fair that is canceled due to the corona virus. Earlier this month, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was canceled due to the worldwide virus outbreak.
