Organization plans IFA fair as a physical event in September
Electronics fair IFA returns in September as a physical event. The organization has announced this. IFA is one of the most important shows on the calendar for the electronics sector and had a limited run last year.
This year it concerns a ‘full-size fair’, says the organization. The IFA continued in a limited version in 2020, with many exhibitors absent and only a limited number of visitors welcome. According to the organization, this year is about a return to the fair as it was last held in 2019.
This would make it the first major electronics fair since the start of the pandemic in January 2020. At that time, CES in Las Vegas was the last major fair for the tech sector. The telecom fair Mobile World Congress in February 2020 was cancelled. The CES did take place again in January, but it was also a limited fair with many cancellations and few visitors.
The global situation surrounding the coronavirus allows it again to organize a large-scale fair, the organization says. IFA takes place every year in the German capital Berlin. This year it concerns the period from 2 to 6 September, according to the organization.
