OPPO will present Find X5 smartphones with MariSilicon X npu next week
OPPO will present its Find X5 series of smartphones on February 24. The Find X5 Pro is the new flagship and uses the proprietary MariSilicon chip for image processing for the first time. It will sit next to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
OPPO confirms in a press release that it will announce the new phone next Thursday and shows a first official version of the device. In it, the company confirms that it is collaborating with Hasselblad for the cameras. Details about this came out earlier via leaked renders and specifications. The Find X5 Pro gets three cameras, two with 50-megapixel sensors and a telephoto camera with 13-megapixel sensor. They sit on a camera island with a non-symmetrical shape. On the front, the device has a 32-megapixel camera. According to OPPO, the device has a ceramic back that has a coating that would prevent fingerprints.
The manufacturer says that the phones use the MariSilicon X chip. That is a proprietary imaging npu that the company announced at the end of last year. According to the company, the MariSilicon can reach 18Tops in computing power and is mainly intended for shooting photos and videos in RAW format. The chip is coupled in the phone to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
OPPO does not say anything about the other models in the X5 series in its press release, but from the information published earlier that a Find X5 and Find X5 Lite will appear in addition to the Find X5 Pro. The latter is very similar in appearance and specifications to the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G presented on Thursday. OPPO is the parent company of OnePlus.
