OPPO releases four new phones in A series, including 5G model from 269 euros

OPPO renews its A series of smartphones. There will be four models, three of which support 5G. The cheapest 5G device costs 269 euros and the most expensive model 369 euros. Two of the four smartphones have an OLED screen.

The top model of the A-line this year is the OPPO A94 5G, with a Mediatek Dimensity 800U-soc and 8GB of ram. The phone has a 6.43″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. There are four camera lenses on the back: in addition to the primary camera, this is an ultra-wide-angle camera, macro camera and a depth sensor. The 4310mAh battery supports fast charging with 30W and the housing is 7.8mm thick.

OPPO A74 5G and A54 5G

The cheaper OPPO A74 5G and A54 5G do not have an OLED screen, but a 6.5 “LCD. However, the refresh rate at 90Hz is higher than that of the more expensive model. The resolution is the same at 2400×1080 pixels. These two models also have four cameras. on the back, with a similar setup to the A94 5G.OPPO uses the Snapdragon 480 5G-soc in these models and equips them with a 5000mAh battery.The pair has an 8.4mm housing and a fingerprint scanner on the side of the housing.

OPPO A74 4G

In name, the OPPO A74 4G looks like a variant of the A74 5G, but in addition to the differences in connectivity, there are other major differences. For example, the 4G model has the OLED screen that is also in the more expensive A94 5G and the housing is also comparable to that model in terms of dimensions and weight. The 4G device has a Snapdragon 662 soc. However, the 4G model has no NFC and the ultra-wide-angle camera is also missing.

Two new Android versions and two years of security updates

OPPO provides the devices with ColorOS 11.1, which is based on Android 11. The manufacturer has an update policy that also applies to the devices in the A series. That requires phones to get two new Android versions and guarantees security updates for a period of at least two years after release. OPPO’s A-series competes with Samsung’s A-series in price and specifications. That manufacturer guarantees three Android upgrades and four years of security updates for its latest devices.

The new OPPO devices in the A series are available immediately. The A94 5G is the most expensive model with a suggested retail price of 369 euros. The A74 5G and A74 4G cost 319 and 249 euros respectively. The A54 5G costs 249 euros.
