Oppo presents midrange device with ‘HTC Touch Diamond’-like back
The Chinese manufacturer Oppo has presented an Android smartphone with a back with a ‘diamond pattern’, just like HTC did in 2008 with its Windows Mobile device Touch Diamond. The Mirror R5s has a 5″ screen.
The back is patterned with uneven surfaces, largely in triangle shapes. The design is reminiscent of that of the HTC Touch Diamond from 2008, which has a similar pattern. After the Diamond, HTC no longer applied the pattern in newer models.
The Mirror R5s has a 5″ screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410-soc, a quad-core with four Cortex A53 processor cores at 1.2GHz. The device has a working memory of 2GB, while the storage has a size of 16GB, which can be expanded with a memory card.
Oppo has equipped the R5s with its own Color OS 2.1, a skin of Android 5.1. The device supports 4G and users can store two SIM cards in the phone. The phone also has an infrared port to serve as a remote control.
The Chinese manufacturer has not yet announced the price for its new device. It is not yet known when exactly it will be released.
